General Vaping Discussion • Re: Nicotine not addictive? Yeah right!

Yep, nicotine is addictive. BUT, there are several things that should be expanded on.

Separated from the tobacco, by itself, it is not nearly as addictive as smoking. Cigarettes contain MANY substances, some artificially added, that contribute to the much more addictive nature of cigarettes. Some say that nicotine alone is not much worse than caffeine in its addictive properties.

Addiction is a highly personal thing. It will vary greatly from individual to individual. Some people are barely bothered, others have more serious desires. All people are not the same.

And, we have to agree, nicotine is not the ‘bad guy’ in smoking; it’s the tar, carcinogens, and huge pile of nasty things that result when we set fire to it.

Yes it is. But for many its the motion of the habit and not the nic. I can change the nic have even gone to zero and have zero in many flavors. It changes the taste for sure. For me I can give up the nic but having a hard time giving up the habit. Some that statement may be true.

General Vaping Discussion • Nicotine not addictive? Yeah right!

Hi Guys

It often comes up in replies to posts that nicotine is not addictive, or that there are studies that suggest that it isn’t. I find that rather strange, to me it has DENIAL written all over it. I know there are substances other than nicotine that may also be addictive which explains why it is so difficult to quit smoking. However, I am still convinced nicotine is the main culprit. If nicotine is not addictive surely it must be possible to stop vaping cold turkey? How many of you would be able to do that? I know I couldn’t. I know smoking addiction is a complex thing but I can’t imagine having to go without my nic. Quitting vaping is definitely not on my radar at the moment, and probably not ever.

How do you feel about this?

Family members want a vaporizer, too – what would you do?

There are already 2 of us in the household vaping now. Me, and my 19 year old daughter. I’m vaping for pleasure – zero nic.
My daughter is as well, but the plan there is for her to use it to eliminate the occasional smoking she does.

My wife is seeing how much I’m enjoying it, and she now wants one. She also thinks one of our college age boys would want one.

What would you do? Would you view it *safe enough* to give to other loved ones – that aren’t using it for smoking elimination – or would you be concerned?

Just stopping in to say Hi!

Hey everyone,

I’m just stopping in to say hello. Figured I’d make an official welcome since everytime on on reddit ecr, ecr+, or openpv, I am shown links from here. This place is a ridiculous wealth of information and is helping me plan my first box mod. This place is awsome, keep on keeping on everyone!

It took me 2 years this month to perfect this recipe. I hope you enjoy it. – C.Kane’s Miami Vice Recipe inside

I don’t post here a lot, but I have been a member for a very long time. I figured it’s time I share my baby. I would encourage you to give it a shot at a nic level of no more than 6mg with the same pg/vg ratio since in my opinion this makes the difference. I’ve treated this like a real recipe. Different nic levels and ratios change the experience for me. This is what I’ve settled on. As with a good steak, I’ll also recommend a good way of serving and cooking the course. This should be served 0.5 ohms or less in an RDA with plenty of air flow for it to really stand out. Best if aged, lid on, no breathing, for 5 days or more.
