Business Violations of JuiceDB Rules Namely Solicitation

This has become a trend lately that I fear will become more underhanded/popular after 8/8 and needs to be addressed and made public. Not only for businesses but users. Concern was voiced in the past with biased reviews submitted on <a href="http://www.vapininthecape.com/<a href="http://www.vapininthecape.com/eliquid_c_7.html”>eliquid_c_7.html”>juiceDB so we came up with our <a href="https://www.<a href="http://www.vapininthecape.com/<a href="http://www.vapininthecape.com/eliquid_c_7.html”>eliquid_c_7.html”>juicedb.com/business-code-of-conduct”>No Solicitation of Reviews Rule. With this rule, a business cannot give free <a href="http://www.vapininthecape.com/<a href="http://www.vapininthecape.com/eliquid_c_7.html”>eliquid_c_7.html”>juice or credit in exchange for a review. We do not look down on businesses asking for a review or giving <a href="http://www.vapininthecape.com/<a href="http://www.vapininthecape.com/eliquid_c_7.html”>eliquid_c_7.html”>juice and requesting a review up front. Doing it on the back end, such as “show us a review and we’ll give you a free 30ml” inspires inflated review scores and less than honest reviews because not many want to be “that person” who left a bad review and still wants a free bottle.

We want your reviews, and every review helps the site to grow. However, we do not want shill reviews or halfhearted reviews only submitted to get something for free. It’s not fair to other users or other businesses who struggle to get authentic reviews.

We notice the trends and know the site. A slew of high ratings for some unknown vendor is an obvious tip off. We evaluate reviews and users for direct connections to the vendor as they come in. This includes being the business owner, contracted worker (advertising), and individuals whom the business sponsors. These reviews will be marked “off-topic” which will not show on <a href="http://www.vapininthecape.com/<a href="http://www.vapininthecape.com/eliquid_c_7.html”>eliquid_c_7.html”>juiceDB or count in scores, but also not be deleted, and if continued the user can be banned. We reach out to businesses who violate our rules and explain our rules. Further violations of our rules by the business can result in the business being banned from being listed on <a href="http://www.vapininthecape.com/<a href="http://www.vapininthecape.com/eliquid_c_7.html”>eliquid_c_7.html”>juiceDB. We have a 3 strike policy depending on the severity. This has not happened yet, but a couple lately are very close.

Businesses struggle to break into the market and sometimes get aheads of themselves and don’t realize they violated this rule. We get that. However, a few have decided that after being informed of the rules they will continue to find ways to try to manipulate the site.

We pride ourselves on doing everything in our power to keep the reviews on our site as authentic and legitimate as possible as the site is really only useful so long as we can keep reviews stemming from rule violations out. If you see a vendor violating our rules anywhere please let us know preferably with a screenshot or proof. Send us an e-mail at <a href="mailto:team@<a href="http://www.vapininthecape.com/<a href="http://www.vapininthecape.com/eliquid_c_7.html”>eliquid_c_7.html”>juicedb.com”>team@<a href="http://www.vapininthecape.com/<a href="http://www.vapininthecape.com/eliquid_c_7.html”>eliquid_c_7.html”>juicedb.com or message one of us (/u/wump, /u/sc0lm00, /u/veroden, /u/p00pb0t). A lot of these things have started happening more covertly via direct e-mail contact, in private facebook groups, or in person. We are able to hunt a majority of these violations down (Few can circumvent /u/Wump’s Google Fu) but it takes a lot of time to find the groups or users who will get back to use about the source.

As always we appreciate your support!

TL;DR: If you see someone violating our rules let us know and send us proof please.

Message to Non-Industry Vapers

Many of you, like me, are not in the vaping business, and don't make a dime from vaping.

We are now the cover for the good people in this industry that have given us so much. Vendors have always been prevented from making certain claims, and now that August 8 has arrived, it is even worse. It is up to us to be the wingmen, and to say the things vendors cannot.

Help your vendor in the shops, here on reddit, on twitter and facebook. If someone asks them, "Can it help me stop smoking? It is really safer?", they can't answer that honestly, because the FDA requires them to lie (or at least to soften the answer).

But YOU can answer with the truth. Step up and answer. Share your story. Spread the truth. Give your vendor the voice that the FDA has stolen from them.

Does charging your batteries slowly lead to a more complete charge? — Part 2

I screwed up! When I posted earlier about this topic I was only discussing chargers that had a fixed current cutoff to know when to stop the charge. I had forgotten that vapers are starting to use the "hobby" chargers favored by the radio-control communities.

Some of these chargers have a "C/10" current cutoff. The cutoff isn't fixed, it's often set to 1/10th of the charging current setting. For example, if you are charging at 1A the charge will stop when the current drops to 0.1A.

Will using these chargers mean that charging slowly will lead to a more complete charge?

Bottom line: Yes. The battery's capacity does increase at lower charge rates, but it does so only by a small amount. Charging at 0.5A increased the capacity by about 1.8% versus charging at 2A.

Additional Information: I charged a Samsung 25R at four different rates, from 0.5A to 4A, and then discharged it at 5A each time. As you can see in the graph below, the capacity the battery delivered down to 2.5V changed by up to 3.2% across all four discharges. This is a lot more than the 0.25% change in capacity when using chargers with a fixed charging cutoff current.

For more reasonable charge rates, 0.5A – 2A, the capacity of the battery increased by about 1.8% when charging at 0.5A instead of 2A.

My apologies for the confusion and for dividing this topic into two posts!
