GrayScale Liquids Juice Review

Hello everyone! DayZLegend here, aka Brendon. I thought that with my obscene amount of free time on this Sunday afternoon, that I would review one of my more recent purchases from a vendor that I found on this subreddit.

First off, the <a href="http://www.vapininthecape.com/<a href="http://www.vapininthecape.com/eliquid_c_7.html”>eliquid_c_7.html”>juice is extremely cheap. I paid 4 dollars for a 15ml plastic bottle of <a href="http://www.vapininthecape.com/<a href="http://www.vapininthecape.com/eliquid_c_7.html”>eliquid_c_7.html”>juice, and I also ordered the lemonade combo three pack.

First <a href="http://www.vapininthecape.com/<a href="http://www.vapininthecape.com/eliquid_c_7.html”>eliquid_c_7.html”>juice that I would like the review is the Banana Marshmellow.

This <a href="http://www.vapininthecape.com/<a href="http://www.vapininthecape.com/eliquid_c_7.html”>eliquid_c_7.html”>juice is like a dead on replica of banana laffy taffy. The exhale is so smooth and the flavor isn't overpowering at all. This flavor is one of THE BEST banana flavors I have ever had.

The next flavor is Amber's Lemonade. This <a href="http://www.vapininthecape.com/<a href="http://www.vapininthecape.com/eliquid_c_7.html”>eliquid_c_7.html”>juice is a perfect blend of both the raspberry and strawberry lemonade. The flavor profile is dead on. The raspberry and strawberry blend perfectly, not a single flavor overwhelms the other. They complement each other so well. Unlike a lot of raspberry flavors, it isn't so much on the tart side, more sweet than anything else.

Blueberry Lemonade is most comparable to Blue Razz from Brew City <a href="http://www.vapininthecape.com/<a href="http://www.vapininthecape.com/eliquid_c_7.html”>eliquid_c_7.html”>juice. The flavor is actually more standout than Brew City in my personal opinion. I guess instead of retyping it every time. Every single flavor is smooth. The blueberry is combined flawlessly between sweet and lemonadey flavor.

Strawberry Lemonade is next on the list, and I LOVE this flavor. The strawberry has a slight cream aftertaste after the modest strawberry flavor. None of the lemonade tartness is present. It's very easy to vape unlike some lemonade flavors I've had that taste tart and sour.

Finally. Raspberry Lemonade. This one has the most lemon flavor out of all of them. This flavor is my personal favorite out of all of the <a href="http://www.vapininthecape.com/<a href="http://www.vapininthecape.com/eliquid_c_7.html”>eliquid_c_7.html”>juice I got. It's got everything that I could personally want in a razzberry flavor, sweet with just a tinge of tartness and the lemon comes in at the end for the perfect aftertaste.

Overall, for the price of <a href="http://www.vapininthecape.com/<a href="http://www.vapininthecape.com/eliquid_c_7.html”>eliquid_c_7.html”>juice and quality, this is one of the best vendors I have ordered from online and I will be ordering again once I get paid. Thanks so much for reading and if you have anymore questions, feel free to ask in the thread or message me.

So, my buddies mod vented in his pocket today…

Apparently, he thought it was a bright idea to remove the wraps from his batteries since they were already torn. We warned him not to and explained why, then he proceeded to rip them off. If he would have gotten a hold of me, I would have put some new wraps on them for him.

So, he walked into work at walmart. Almost made it to electronics with his fuchai 200 and uwell crown in his pocket when his pocket flashed and gave him 2nd degree burns. The mod FLEW out of what was left of his pocket about 20 ft over and past the registers. We tried to get the video footage but the security guy said it was confidential because Wal-Mart policy, bla, bla, bla.

He's gonna ask around and see if he can get it somehow. He wouldn't give me any pictures of his leg either, since he knew I was gonna post it here. Maybe I can sweet talk him and edit this post later. It charred a solid 7 or 8 inches of his theigh and also burnt half of his pubes off.

At least he can say he's black from the waist down now…

Tl;dr idiot friend removes battery wraps, spontaneous dong combustion ensues

Also, learn basic battery safety folks, unless you like it charred.

EDIT: got a picture of the mod. http://i.imgur.com/vWP7NZq.jpg

Allright guys just started working in a cigar shop. I have convinced the owner to stock mods.

Just started working there, talked the owner to give me 1000 bucks and shelf space. I have gotten whole sale prices on most new mods. All ready ordered 100 bucks in ego all in ones and coils (gonna try to sell them to the tobacco users as a good way not to stink up your car and you know save your life lol). Need some suggestions on mods. <a href="http://www.vapininthecape.com/<a href="http://www.vapininthecape.com/eliquid_c_7.html”>eliquid_c_7.html”>juice is limited by the whole sales we use ( cuttwood cosmic fog Charlie's chalk dust jimmy the <a href="http://www.vapininthecape.com/<a href="http://www.vapininthecape.com/eliquid_c_7.html”>eliquid_c_7.html”>juice man) and will come out of a different budget. Help a brother out and help some people get off the stinkies.

Huge thanks to everyone. I will try to do weekly updates and get pictures after we rebrand. Hopefully it will all be good news but times are rough out there. Wish me luck and success. Thanks again you guys are the shit!

DotMod Petri RTA Review (yep. That’s a T.)

DISCLAIMER: This product was sent to me for the purpose of review by dotmod. It isn't for sale on their site yet as it was a limited run, and I'm not sure of the restock date from dotmod, but judging by the serial # on the one that I received (#0023) they're in production and I expect it'll be soon. This will still be as unbiased as I can be, and there are still some faults with this, and it won't be for everyone.

Here it is in all glory!

TLDR: Holy lord, the flavor on this thing is the best out of the RTA's I've tried thus far (Mage, Azeroth, Avocado, Theorem, and I have a Griffin/Limitless+ getting here Tuesday, but I don't expect them to touch this tbh)

So uh, looks like our friends over @ dotmod have decided to do an RTA. This is something I've been hoping for for a while now, as anyone who knows me knows how much of a dotmod fanboy I am when it comes to the Petri RDA. This is almost a perfect mimic of Petri flavor in a tank. My search for a tank that has the flavor of an RDA ends here, provided they make it some additional colors.

What's in the box

Typical beautiful dotmod Packaging (link)

  • Atomizer
  • Replacement Glass (Pyrex I assume, waiting on some documentation from dotmod on this)
  • replacement cap for the drip tip (this isn't a replaceable drip tip at all, although a 510 tip will fit in there it's ugly.
  • Additional 510 pin, 4 additional grub screws, 2 prebuilt coils (didn't use them, not sure what they are, claptons of some sort)
  • Additional O-Rings.
  • Hex key for grub screws.

Product Quality / Machining Quality

Not much to say here except that everything is machined perfectly and everything is butter smooth.

Building/Wicking/(dis)Assembly

This is where things get a little tricky. Dotmod has gone with a postless design on this one which makes building a little wonky, and the assembly/disassembly requires a little bit of strange stuff. First off, to get the chimney to unscrew you'll need to loosen the 510 pin.

When I say that this thing comes apart, I mean, IT COMES APART. Here's the thing 100% disassembled.

Wicking on this atomizer is the strangest that I've seen, but provided I'm doing it the intended way, and I think that I am since it works, it's highly functional and not hard when you sort it out.

There are two wicking channels on a dual coil atomizer, which seems a little strange. The advantage to this is that you could (I haven't tried it yet, but I don't see any reason it wouldn't work) presumably run a single coil here and not have wicking issues. If that's the reason that it's built like that, it's pretty genius.

For dual coils, which is what I'm running, here's how I'm wicking it.

I find that the key here is to be gentle when you're overlaying your wicks, and putting a small amount of <a href="http://www.vapininthecape.com/<a href="http://www.vapininthecape.com/eliquid_c_7.html”>eliquid_c_7.html”>juice on them helps get everything in place.

Once the wicking is in place, put your glass on top, and put the chimney section on. Once the chimney is screwed in, you can put the 510 screw back in from the bottom and tighten it up (it's hybrid safe, obviously, since I assume they're expecting folks to be running this on their mods)

Once the 510 pin is on, pop the airflow control ring on, close it up, and fill it with <a href="http://www.vapininthecape.com/<a href="http://www.vapininthecape.com/eliquid_c_7.html”>eliquid_c_7.html”>juice. I have had some leaking on the initial fill but not subsequent ones, so I'm assuming that has something to do with my wicking not being quite heavy enough near the wicking ports to completely block the ports until it's expanded with <a href="http://www.vapininthecape.com/<a href="http://www.vapininthecape.com/eliquid_c_7.html”>eliquid_c_7.html”>juice and it's no longer an issue. To combat this, I just keep the airflow control closed when filling, pull on it 5-6 times with a closed airflow to bring <a href="http://www.vapininthecape.com/<a href="http://www.vapininthecape.com/eliquid_c_7.html”>eliquid_c_7.html”>juice into the chamber/coils, then open the airflow and blow hard to push the <a href="http://www.vapininthecape.com/<a href="http://www.vapininthecape.com/eliquid_c_7.html”>eliquid_c_7.html”>juice out and clean it up and wipe it off. I lose maybe half a ml of <a href="http://www.vapininthecape.com/<a href="http://www.vapininthecape.com/eliquid_c_7.html”>eliquid_c_7.html”>juice this way but I'm sure I'll get better at wicking this thing over time.

Assembled Pic!

Flavor/Cloud Production

With the airflow wide open, cloud production is pretty solid, but clouds are not the focus of this atomizer. This thing is a flavor MONSTER. I put the same <a href="http://www.vapininthecape.com/<a href="http://www.vapininthecape.com/eliquid_c_7.html”>eliquid_c_7.html”>juice in both the Petri RTA and my Petri RDA, both on almost identical mods, and I'm experiencing almost identical flavor. The build for the RTA was a little lower resistance because I was building for a Mech mod (0.2Ω vs .3Ω on the RDA), running @ 80w on the RDA and I guess this .2Ω comes out to about 88w on a Mech, but flavor is astounding.

Pros/Cons

Pros

  • Flavor is the best that I've had out of a tank atomizer, hands down.
  • The amount of pieces this thing comes into makes cleaning it SUPER easy.
  • The machining and threading is all super perfect and typical of what is probably going to be an expensive atomizer.
  • It's beautiful. The gold is a bit gaudy for my personal taste and I'm afraid to leave the house with it, but it's staying on my desk and not going anywhere for a while.
  • Packaging/replacement parts are what you'd expect, and the extra glass is nice to have since I did bust my initial one when doing some testing and writing this review.
  • Adjustable airflow is nice to have. Closing the airflow down about halfway gives me about the same airflow as the single hole Petri RDA cap, opening it up all the way brings it closer to the Cloud Cap (2 hole) airflow.
  • Postless deck is easy to build on (ONCE YOU GET THE HANG OF IT.)
  • The wicking design is pretty genius once you adjust to it. It's different but if my thought process on single coils and having 2 wicking ports in the event that you don't want to use dual coils is true, that's pretty fucking awesome.
  • Zero leaks whatsoever past that initial wicking/filling issue.
  • Haven't had a single dry hit yet.
  • Top Fill!

Cons

  • This thing is no doubt going to be expensive. I have no idea what the MSRP is going to be, but I would expect it'll be on par with or above the Petri RDA, which MSRP's for $90 (although you can find them less expensively on places like VVS619)
  • I'm not sure how durable the glass is. I'm pretty clumsy and did manage to bust one of the glass tubes when cleaning it and dropping it in the sink from about 8" height — this is probably pretty typical from Pyrex type glass but I thought it should be noted.
  • I hope that they release this in other colors. The 24k gold is beautiful, but as it stands, I'm afraid to take it out anywhere, and it'll inevitably be a theft magnet as shiny as it is.
  • Building on the deck is a little strange if you don't have any experience
  • Wicking is strange without experience wicking with this, and I haven't seen a ton of tanks that wick like this, so it'll have a learning curve.
  • It takes a little longer to build on this and get it assembled than some just because of how many pieces it comes into. I hesitate to call this a con because I personally enjoy it being this modular, but I'm sure it will be a nuisance to some.
  • The build deck is small. You're not going to fit massive builds in here.
  • You will need to disassemble this atty to rebuild/rewick.

Summary

I'm in love with it. If they make it in different colors, I'll likely sell my other tank based atomizers and use these exclusively when I want tanks. Do it in matte black and you've won my heart.

And if you're curious, here's how it looks on the 24mm Dotmod Mech mod (which is also not released yet, but will be shortly — I haven't done a review of this yet, but will try to soon. It's everything you like about the Petri Lite v2 but in a 24mm size.)

Just a couple of edits/updates:

  • This is apparently a 22mm RTA, for some reason I had in my head it was 24 to match the 24mm mech. Oops.
  • It IS possible to rewick without emptying the tank by pulling the 510 screw from the bottom and pulling the deck out. It isn't optimal and could probably be done better, but it does work.

Dropped my 18650 battery under a deck and can’t get it

As the title states I can't get to the battery cause the area is boxed off. Is it fine to leave it there? I just want to make sure it won't blow up or anything
